​Do I need to provide my own fabric? 


Yes, for workshops we ask you to supply your own fabric so your lampshade perfectly suits your space. We’re happy to advise on suitable fabric types—generally, medium-weight cottons or linens work best.

What size fabric do I need for a workshop?


For our standard 30cm drum lampshade workshop, please bring 30-50cm of fabric of at least 100cm wide. If you're unsure about your fabric choice, feel free to get in touch before the workshop.

 

What if I’ve never made a lampshade before? 


No problem at all! Our workshops are designed for beginners. We guide you through each step and provide all the tools and materials you need—just bring your fabric and your creativity!

 

Where are you located?


We’re based in Christchurch, New Zealand. Workshops are held locally (further location details shared on booking) and custom orders can be arranged via email or in person.

Do you offer private workshops for events such as bridal showers or team building?

Yes! The Lampshade Lab offers private, hosted workshops perfect for special occasions such as bridal showers, birthdays, team-building events, or a creative catch-up with friends. We’ll guide your group through making their own custom lampshade in a fun, hands-on session. We provide all the materials (except fabric), and can come to you or help arrange a venue.
